Head coach Ciara Crinion named her 21-player roster on Sept. 24. It's young even by U-17 standards: 16 players born in 2009, four in 2010, and one, New York City FC midfielder Loradana Paletta, born in 2011.
Who to watch
Maddie DiMaria (FW, St. Louis Scott Gallagher) is the roster's most-capped player and top scorer.
Deus Stanislaus (FW, UNC) led the team with six goals at Concacaf qualifying.
Meila Brewer (DF, Dallas Trinity FC) is the only professional on the roster.
Carolina Reyna (FW, FC Westlake) and her brother Gio become the first brother-sister pair to represent the U.S. at a U-17 World Cup.
The players have earned this opportunity to compete and enjoy this tournament on the world stage.
The field is 24 teams, split into six groups. DPR Korea are the four-time champions and defending title holders. The final is Nov. 7.
