The Philadelphia Union's academy has a new name drawing European scouts. According to a Transfer Feed report on Oct. 12, Chelsea are interested in 17-year-old forward Malik Jakupovic.
The same report says the competition is crowded. Borussia Dortmund have long-standing interest, with offers of €2-3 million reportedly turned down this summer. Red Bull Salzburg and Stuttgart are also named. The Union, per the report, want a fee in the double-digit millions of euros.
This is one report from one outlet, so treat it as interest, not a done deal.
The numbers explain the attention. Jakupovic scored eight goals in three games at Concacaf U-17 qualifying in February, including five in a 10-0 win over St. Kitts and Nevis.
He's also a dual national, eligible for the U.S. and Bosnia and Herzegovina. That's worth watching as his profile grows.
At club level, he's still early. Jakupovic signed a Homegrown deal that runs through the 2029-30 season, with an option for 2030-31. He made his MLS debut off the bench against Chicago Fire on March 21, 2026.
The Union have sold top talent before, and they know what it's worth. Expect them to hold out for the right number.
